Ride Maps

Looking for recommendations on websites or route maps for the East Bay area....prefer the more scenic back roads like Grizzly Peak Blvd...Has anybody used the Pashnit website and their CA motorcycle maps ??? Looking for short day trips with some photographic opportunities and places to stop along the way...Thanks, Greg

The Pashnit site is a good one. I've followed it for Morgan Territory Road, Mt Hamilton, Mines Road and am about to do a San Andreas route with info from it.

There are a couple more that I have also found to be useful:

This one: http://www.motorcycleroads.us/states/ca.html, has some good routes, but not a lot of local, lesser known ones and the reports are pretty sketchy.

This one: http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/road/states/CA.shtml, has a lot more detail and more routes with a lot of GPS data also.

Thanks Scott...I have sketched out a scenic route from Berkeley up over Mt Grizzly to Walnut Creek and on to Mt Diablo summit...Will come back through Walnut Creek to Briones Park, Alhambra Rd and down by the San Pablo resevoir, Tilden Park and back to North Berkeley...Google says it is a 70 mi round trip that they calculate for about 3 hours by car...will see how that computes with the scooter...If anyone is interested in joining we can meet at the North Berkeley BART station on Sat morning at a time that is convenient...
