3 passes camping ride Empty Ride report

Post by Guest Fri Jun 20, 2008 4:46 pm

Well, it was another great ride going over Ebbet, Monitor and Sonora passes. Much cooler temperatures up there.
Since it was only Donna and I, we off course left on time Surprised)
Well ok, it was 8:30 AM. We made it over Ebbet pass and had lunch at Markleeville around 12:30 and went on to
a camp site just before Twin Lakes by 3 PM. We then set camp, and went for a little tour of the Buckeye area (dirt roads) and discover a
new hot spring (for us), thanks to the info from our buddy Terry... really cool area if you do not mind the dirt roads... we don't.
Since no one else joined us on this trip, we passed the loop to Boddie and came bcak home via Sonora pass.
It was a great ride, very few people on the road.
You can go see the pics right here: http://high-yo-silver.smugmug.com/gallery/5216345_qgmpQ#316663862_VCCUB
Enjoy

Alain,

Wow, those are beautiful pictures! That must have been a great ride.

Were the roads pretty clean, no debris? How did your scoot handle the elevation, any issue with power?

I especially like the shots of the streams going through the boulders. It reminds me of the power of mother nature when just plain water can create such beautiful sceneries.

Yes, magnificent pictures. Makes you realize how beautiful the world can be, and how small we are...

The roads were just great and with no traffic at all. We sure did enjoy the cool temperatures as well since it was a blazing week end everywhere else. Two up plus gear, the scoot did great and still manage 50m/g.
