Is it just me, or does there seem to be a trend where the middle Saturday of each month always gets the most votes in our ride polls?

Two hypothesis as to wise this could be come to mind:

1) That is when most people are available

or, and I'm going from my own experience here;

2) After the previous month's ride it seems like the next one is far away and you have a lot of time to think about and plan for the next one. And then, all of the sudden, you're past the first weekend of the new month and you start to panic because we haven't chosen a date yet. But, you're still not sure if you can make it or not due to life's commitments. Then you get into the second week or so of the new month, things are beginning to bug you and you realize life is too short and you say, "the heck with those commitments". Because you haven't ridden in three or four weeks and you're really missing it, you go to the poll and vote for the nearest, upcoming Saturday just so you can get your fix soon and have something booked so you can look forward to it. So, you've just voted for the Saturday in the middle of the month.

Another observation: If our August ride turns out to be the 16th, how come we aren't doing the Tahoe ride? John and Mark are going to be up there as is at least one other member IIRC. Of course, I myself have been hesitating on that one too because the overnight commitment might be logistically problematic, and I don't know any other way to do it. But, I also think I'll end up regretting not having gone after that weekend goes by, because late summer and early fall are perfect times to ride around Tahoe.

Oh, life's dilemas. .

I didn't start to post things for the August ride because we had to take our lap top into the shop to get repaired. We are using our old computer and I had to get it going since it wasn't working good either, which is why we bought the other one. I was away from this site for over a week really. I'm not sure why the middle of the month is usually the date it just seems to work out that way.

But anyone can initiate the next months ride whenever they want. I just wasn't able to get a poll out quicker this time. This month's ride may be towards the end of the month after everyone votes so we will see.
