Notification of messages
One of the features I used on Yahoo groups was the daily summary email. Rather than getting a bunch of email messages throughout the day, I could review a single email to find out about rides, conversations, and discussions. I haven't seen a preference that I can turn on to enable this.
I also use RSS feeds regularly to notify me of new conversations on message boards like this. My RSS client will popup a small message telling me of the topics with new messages. I don't see an RSS feed option here either.
Hopefully these can be enabled or turned on somehow. Otherwise I fear I won't know about new messages. I rarely have time to troll message boards looking for conversations or topics.

Re: Notification of messages
Geoff,
I'm trying to figure that out now. Email notification is supposed to be one of the features of this system but I'm still working on the "Calendar", "Files", and "Links" right now. But the email notification is important too.

Re: Notification of messages
??? Any updates on this, apparently the notification still does not work... for me at least. Just curious.
Thanks

Re: Notification of messages
Alain,
The forum doesn't support it directly for members as far as we can see.
So, as admins, Jeff and I do get the notifications and I am trying to put something together using Outlook to forward those notifications to all members that have put regular email addresses in their profiles.
I'm still working on this and hope to have it operating correctly by this weekend at the latest.

Re: Notification of messages
I'm suddenly getting email notifications for postings on this forum when I did not sign up for this feature. The links to stop watching the topics are broken. Cut and pasting the broken links only bring me back to the home page with no results. This is annoying. Is there a general area on this site to shut off following any threads on the site? Can this please be fixed?

Me too! Please: MAKE IT STOP... I've received a bunch of email notifications for a topic I did NOT elect to "watch" and therefore have no way to turn it off.

Re: Notification of messages
Scott, I am not sure what is going on but since you added my name to the notification list I am getting lots of messages with error notification, site does not exist, and blank pages. So, if this is the choice between getting no messages and lots of errors, I prefer no messages. Thanks, Bonnie

Re: Notification of messages
Done for Bonnie and ftempas.
OK, so I was trying to be responsive to the requests to get notification of messages that are posted, but this apparently isn't working well enough.
So, I've cut the list back to the original people that requested to be notified and I'll work on trying to get a "summary" mechanism together that would work more like the old Yahoo daily digests.
My apologies to anyone who may have been annoyed with this.

Re: Notification of messages
All,
I have added a menu called "Daily Digests" to the menu bar to the top of this page, just to the right of your login name. This is similar to the daily digests that were generated by the old Yahoo board.
Please try out this link and let me know if the format is acceptable and if it is, then I will try to figure out how it can run daily and configure an email list for those that want daily digests.
Thanks,
Scott

Dqily Digest
Took a look at the Daily Digest and it looks good to me. Hopefully, if this develops, it will put an end to error messages and we can get back on track.
Thanks,

Re: Notification of messages
Scott,
This is the same thing as the "Search 7 day post" link at the top of the page. This is what I always use when I come here.
This is the link to the post when I made this:
