I've been looking for advanced rider training courses that are available to keep my skills sharp and I've found one locally that I thought I would share.

The training program is run by the Alameda County Sheriff's office at their training facility in Dublin. They have multiple courses that they offer and I've signed up for their 1-Day Basic course that is offered on September 6th. Here is the link: http://sheriffacademy.com/classes/evoc/1day_adv_civ_motor/class.htm. It may be pretty advanced, but I'm going to give it a whirl as it's the only advanced class that I can find locally this year.

If anyone else is interested, it would be great to have another scooter driver there. I'll give a report after the class so that others can at least be aware of the opportunity.

Scott:

Based on the date you posted, cross referenced to the website, it would appear that you have signed up for the "basic" course. I was assuming you were headed for the "intermediate" course and had some interest. I already took the MSF basic course and I've been riding for about five years straight now, so I was thinking the intermediate course would be the most appropriate.

Is there a reason that I'd want to take the basic course instead?

Tom,

I decided to start with their "basic" course after reviewing their courses. It looks to me like their coursework is more advanced than that taught in the MSF course, so I thought I would start at their "basic" and then work up from there.

Their courses are offered multiple times per year, so if I like the "basic" course, then I'll sign up for the next one in six months, or so.

How do I get something to review on their courses?
