The "Ride for Kids" is in just two days. To review, the San Francisco "Ride for Kids" will take place on Sunday, June 29, 2008. The police escorted ride with begin and end at the "Pleasanton Middle School", located at 5001 Case St, Pleasanton, CA. Registration costs $35 and will take place between 0800-0945 hrs. The ride will begin at 1000 hrs, Sharp! There will be light breakfast stuff available, and you'll be served a bag lunch after the ride. After lunch, the "Celebration of Life" will begin, with awards and premiums distributed after the talks.

Like last year, the top prize is a Honda motorcycle, and you'll get a chance at winning it for every $300 you collect in donations. Last year, I was the lucky winner. Let's try to make this years event one to remember, because it will be the last San Francisco "Ride for Kids". Next year (2009), the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is combining the Sacramento and San Francisco rides, which will be known at the Northern California "Ride for Kids".

Next year the NorCal ride will take place on the 1st Sunday of October 2009, and it will start and finish at the "Solano Community College", in Fairfield, CA. If you'd like to join me for the ride to Pleasanton this year, meet me at the "Long's Parking Lot" in Walnut Creek.

The "Long's..." is located at the intersection of Olympic and California Blvds. Because my wife and I (along with several other members of the Blue Knights CA VII and their spouses) are working the event, I'll be leaving "Longs" at 8:00 a.m. So, if you'd like to join me, be on time! Of course, feel free to setup your own riding group(s) to the Pleasanton Middle School. I really don't care how you get there, just get there! We need everyone's help to make this the best San Francisco ride ever!!!!

If you can't make the ride but you'd like to make a contribution, go to my website at http://www.firstgiving.com/CaptJohn and make your donation via a credit card. When you do so, make sure to write in the name of your chapter and your favorite dealership in the comments section. The club/chapter and dealership most mentioned on my website will receive 100% of the funds I raise toward their totals. Right now, the Blue Knights CA VII and California Speed-Sports have the lead.

If you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to email me; and I'll give you the answer or make sure that I findout what you need to
know. My email is: jfredrik@pacbell.net I look forward to seeing each of you on the 29th in Pleasanton.

My goal is to see 100 scooters attending the event.

Just 2 days to go before the San Francisco Bay Area "Ride for Kids". I'm still hoping that I'll be joined by at least 99 scooters. I've had commitments from members of scooter forums thoughout Northern California, and I hope you'll be there, too!

Remember, if you'd like to join me, I'll be leaving the Long's Parking Lot, located at the intersection of Olympic and California Blvds in Walnut Creek, at 8:00 a.m. I'll be there on my red MP3, waiting for you.

If you'd like to setup your own ride, plan on arriving at the Pleasanton Middle School, 5001 Case Street, Pleasanton, Ca for Registration between 8:00-9:45 a.m. The police escorted ride will begin at 10:00 a.m., Sharp! Also, Cal Speed-Sports in Livermore will be having their own ride to the Pleasanton Middle School. Give them a call and ask for Kregg for details!

See YOU Sunday!

Already, I have Gene, Bonnie and several other friends meeting me at the Long's Parking Lot, in Walnut Creek. We're going to meet a little before 8 a.m. on Sunday, and leave that location at 8:00 a.m., Sharp! By the way, the Long's lot is at the intersectin of Olympic & California Blvds in Walnut Creek.

I haven't heard from anyone yet except Gene and Bonnie. I really hope that members of this forum (club) will be attending. So far, I have scooter riders from Modesto, Tracy, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities in the Bayarea committing to this event.

Though I've been posting on ModernVespa for over a year, I've come to make some lasting friendships on this board, and hope many of you will be there. If you can't make my ride to to Pleasanton, there'll be a ride, leaving at about 8:00 a.m., from California Speed-Sports in Livermore, to Pleasanton. Some of you folks from Tracy and parts East might be interested in joining that ride to Pleasanton.

I want the motorcycle riders and the "Ride for Kids" Ride Leaders, from North Carolina, to see that the Scooter community have big hearts, too! And, I'm hoping this will give everyone an opportunity to meet scooter riders from other forums and clubs!

This should be THE event of June. Please, I invite you to be part of it!
