G'day you guys
Love to put a couple of photos on the gallery but it looks like it is full.
Am I correct?
And do you want photos (not many) outside your area of the planet?

Bob,

Your pictures are always welcome!

It seems we've hit our storage limit for the gallery. We'll get it cleared up soon.

Thanks,

Scott

Bob,

The gallery has been increased in storage. Sorry about that but I forgot it was that time to increase it again. We need to increase it monthly. Please put some photo's in since we would all like to see them. Every month at about the 15th or 20th we need to purchase more storage for the month.

Ride safe,

Gallery full? Empty Pics

Post by smoko bob Thu Nov 27, 2008 12:58 pm

Scott and Jeff,
Pics are up.
Hope they are of interest to your group.
You will probably now have to purchase more space - is there any left for you?
Let me know if you want too see random shots of other areas, or would they over load the system?

Bob,

The pics look great and there is plenty of room left. Thanks for sharing them with us and feel free to post more in the future. The additional storage is extremely inexpensive so don' t worry about that. It looks like great riding down there. Have a great day.

Ride safe,

Wonderful pictures, Bob! That's very beautiful country.

I like the last picture of the "cross country" scoot in the grass on the left. Is that a special design?

Scott
Thanks for the opportunity of contributing to your site.
Promise I will only post pics of interest.
Can't remember who the maverick was, but his noncomformity kind of makes something special of that shot.

Hi Bay Riders,
Placed some more photos.
I have enjoyed browsing your site.
We share something in common - regular rideouts rather than being strictly a chat site.
Your Bay Area must encompass a huge sweep.
Are there 2 or 3 months you shy off organising rides because of cold weather?
Looking at my atlas, Brisbane would be about the equivalent of half way down the Baja Peninsular in Mexico.
Your equivalent here would be Melbourne, Victoria - yes, the state of Victoria is cold in winter.
Funny thing, we "Canetoads" call Victorians "Mexicans".
They flock the 1,000 miles north up to here to catch our winter sunshine.

Smoko.

Yeah, I think you're right, both our groups are more "riding" than "chatting". Our trips have pretty much been day trips and we do cover a pretty large area, from Monterrey and Fresno in the south to Napa and Sacramento in the north and from the coast to Sierra mountains in the east. That covers an area about 220 miles wide by about 160 miles high, about 35,000 square miles.

We can pretty much ride the whole year around, but during the winter months of December, January and February the ride dates are more subject to the weather. We can still usually find good places to go during those months, but just stay away from the mountains.

It must be nice to be in the "warmer" part of Australia. I really like the pictures of the countryside in your area.

Scott
Our day trip area is not quite so large. 12,000 sq. miles.
180 miles north south (Brisbane placed centrally on the coast) and 90 miles from coast to the Great Dividing Range, west of which is flat straight and unchallanging roads.
Rain falling west of the Divide takes months to end up flowing into the Southern Ocean via South Australa, over 1,000 miles across Australia - so it IS very flat.

Our comfortable day limit as the crow flies, is Murwillumbah in New South Wales (NSW) to the south, and to the north,Gympie.
We have yet to do overnight extended trips north of Gympie.
The extended rides south, into NSW, are just that much more attractive, and we can now meet up and ride with like minded Maxi riders of Newcastle, 500 miles to the south of Brisbane.
They also are now part of the Maxitag website.
I'll throw a few more pics on later.

To date, it looks like we are the only strictly Maxi group riding in Australia.
All the other groups cater to smaller/lighter scoots - a few token maxis joining in, rather than making the break and going it alone.
I have a feeling it might be similar in the States.
There are lots of Maxis, but always riders are on the chat sites trying to link up for rides.
Nice warm feeling being in a maxi group Very Happy

Smoko.

Bob:

I've ridden with a Vespa based group before we started BAMR. Definitely a different demographic! A much larger group as well. There were maybe 100 or so. A different ride type and style, all urban and very small back roads. No freeways or highways.

Quite interesting actually. We did a short ride out to a remote biker bar. My heart leapt into my throat when I saw where we ended up. There were probably 50 Harleys parked in the lot and enough black leather to redo the interior on 25 cars. I was having visions of Quadrophenia - the mods and the rockers. But all ended well.

Charly:

I can't find an email address to reply to you directly and hope you will see this reply here. If you haven't already learned of this, BAMR has been moved to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/BayAreaMaxiRiders/

It's a Yahoo group. Set yourself up over there.

It's been kind of dead this summer. Maybe you can get some things moving over there.

You'll also be interested in:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/CentralValleyMaxiRiders/

It is a "sister" group to BAMR but more focused on Central Valley activity.

Hi Tom H,

Thanks for the links.... The sister group looks realy nice.
I never used Yahoo group before and it is too confusion for me.
This website is very easy to use... Why members don't want to use it?
